About: Our client, a forward-thinking school board, sought an innovative solution to automate and optimize their job-matching process, replacing outdated manual methods. Specifically, they needed a real-time, data-driven solution to streamline hiring, improve job vacancy postings, and enhance talent placement efficiency.

Previously reliant on cumbersome spreadsheets, their hiring process was bogged down by manual data entry, inconsistencies, and delays in decision-making. Recognizing the need for a more efficient system, we designed a customized in-house mini-app for the school board to match vacancies with top-scored redundant teachers and vice versa. This app pulls real-time data from multiple sources, including spreadsheets and PeopleSoft, continuously calculating and recalculating matching scores based on dynamic criteria such as teacher assignment preferences, proximity to schools, and priority rankings. With numerous custom functions tailored to their unique requirements, the solution provides automated role recommendations, priority-based candidate sorting, and advanced filtering options, making talent acquisition more strategic and efficient. Our client is thrilled with the transformation—so much better than Excel! This app not only automates the job-matching process using an advanced scoring algorithm but also provides instant insights and recommendations, allowing administrators to make well-informed decisions with minimal effort.
